The video for Threads was conceived, shot, and edited in the span of three weeks. The video combines esoteric camcorder footage and narrative 4K iPhone footage to mirror the tone change within the track.

  • Operating mostly as a one-woman production team meant I could take on this project on a tight deadline and a shoe-string budget.

  • This project reflects a blend of my nature-inspired observational style and tender storytelling.

SHORT FILM

SHORT FILM ///

A dining table set with three glasses of white wine, a blue glass candle holder with a white candle, and a vase with yellow and pink flowers. A person with a blue cast on their wrist is seen with hands clasped, sitting at the table.
Two women clearing a dining table with a vase of yellow and pink flowers, a bottle of wine, and wine glasses in a warmly lit room.

After diligently following a potent anti-aging diet for the last two decades, a woman frozen in time is forced to reexamine her lifestyle when her daughter’s boyfriend and his mother come for dinner.

Conceived as the graduation project for my MA degree, I wanted to explore the internalized pressures women face that could lead them to adopting extreme anti-aging health regimens.

  • We successfully raised €3000.00 in a crowdfunding campaign - this covered our location rental, additional equipment rental, transportation and catering costs.

  • This is a dialogue-heavy film, the majority of which takes place at the dinner table. My priority was ensuring that this set-up maintained visual intrigue while emphasizing character and plot development.

  • Leading a 5-day shoot with an extended crew and ensemble cast meant clear communication was paramount.

A recent expat navigates choices about her reproductive health amidst a foreign healthcare system.

I Might Regret This marks my second film collaboration with Eva Lomby, after casting her in my short film Crack. The film explores the vulnerability of facing life-altering decisions while being a foreigner in a new city.

  • I was approached to join the crew as 1st AD quite early in the pre-production process, before the script was finalized. Due to last-minute scheduling conflicts, I ended up taking over as director the week before our scheduled shooting dates.

  • While not ideal, I rose to the task, balancing forging a level of creative ownership over the project with the reality of the constrictions of being far into the production.

Splinter

Three musicians are playing in a dimly lit, smoky room, with a female cellist, a male pianist, and a male saxophonist. A bright light illuminates them all from behind.

Moody. Ambient. Dramatic. Those were among the adjectives that caught my attention in the project brief for Splinter.

  • The perfect project to experiment with more dramatic visuals while retaining an emotional through line.

  • All set design and lighting layouts were executed in the artist’s studio space to cut rental costs - a testament to budget-friendly production and inventiveness.

  • Working with musicians gave me a refreshed perspective on creative collaboration workflows.

SHORT FILM

SHORT FILM ///

On an outdoor, overcast day, a man with a grey beanie taking a phone call while a woman with a red and white striped knit hat watches him. The woman has long braids and is wearing a dark jacket.
A man and woman talking outdoors in a park on a cloudy day, both holding white cups, dressed warmly in jackets and beanies, smiling at each other.

After a night of partying, a devoted couple examines the cracks in their relationship.

A one-shot short film set in the middle of chilly Berlin winter, this passion project had many challenges to navigate:

  • The limitations of the shoe-string budget were addressed within the production design ahead of shooting - by choosing a free location and working with school crew and equipment, all funds were able to go to talent.

  • Shooting outside in December meant being prepared: hot water, heating packs, and places to warm up inside were all scoped ahead of time and accessible during the shoot.

  • The ambitiousness of capturing what I wanted in both performance and camera operation in a 5-minute one-take (while moving with the actors, no less!) meant ensuring I was clear and focused in my communication, while also being confident enough to know when we had captured the winning take.

Interactive Media

As an interactive multimedia project manager, I’ve worked on a wide variety of projects. I’m confident and experienced with a multitude of creative workflows across audio and visual asset production.

While no project looks exactly the same, some of my recurrent managerial tasks include:

  • Managing all communications between client and creative teams, from brief to on-site integration.

    • To ensure alignment on creative choices, I take detailed notes during meetings and subsequently provide a condensed report to all parties.

  • Overseeing production timelines and budgets.

    • Tracking hours and expenses to cross-reference with the initial budget proposal.

    • Staying informed of the production status of internal team members, freelancers, and external contractors, flagging any potential roadblocks to key stakeholders.

  • Organizing logistical details for on-site integrations.

    • Travel logistics for a team of up to 8 people, including daily itineraries, hotel, car, and flight bookings.

    • Shipping logistics across country borders for both temporary and permanent shipments.
